2011 I started to prepare all my documents and requirements for choosing to take a chance in working as a seafarer. Passing all the trainings and certifications I was ready and prayed so hard to take my career into next level. Luckily I got accepted in Solstad Offshore Philippines 2013 was the breakthrough. I have absolutely no idea how was it like to work in a ship. But it was a blessing I have adjusted quickly to the working environment, my bosses are Norwegian. I admire how they handle their workers fairly and it’s awesome.  My first trip was in Congo, West Africa. I’ve only been ashore once for some quick Christmas shopping after that I signed off from there March 2014 as my vessel Normand Progress was bound to sail back to Edinburgh, Scotland. I went home in Manila to attend my one and only sister’s Church wedding March 30 and celebrate my birthday April 3rd.

    1. Hello Ana! Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Filipino educated nurses like us is credited for 60 studiepoeng according to Helsedirektoratet (formerly SAK). NOKUT on the other hand is in charge for verifying/validating our education in general, for vocational courses equivalency here in Norway. The educational system here is way different here from ours.
