Chances are you might have changed your name first in the Folkeregisteret first before doing this. I hope not because in my latest experience, it has caused me and my husband an expensive process flying to Oslo (we live in the west coast) , hotels, etc just for changing my surname. Luckily, I used in finding comfy yet reasonable rates LOL. It was a really good experience to visit Oslo last month, but if only had I prepared better for reporting our marriage on time, we wouldn’t be on panic mode last month because I needed to renew my residence card as well but the thing is, I have two different names (my MAIDEN NAME ON MY ID AND MY MARRIED NAME IN THE CIVIL REGISTRY HERE). And it is very important to remember that the only form of ID for foreign citizens here is our foreign PH passport. Me and my husband did it on two days because the Philippine Embassy was closed last June 12.
